Questions you might have

Is it really aligned to the New Zealand Curriculum?
Yes. Heapso is built around the New Zealand Curriculum and NCEA. You choose the curriculum references, and Pip is instructed to cite only those, with links out to Tāhūrangi. Pip is told never to invent achievement standards, but it's always worth checking what you get.
Is my work used to train AI?
No. We don't train AI models on your work. AI requests are processed by our AI providers, Anthropic and OpenAI, who don't train on content sent through their business APIs under their standard terms. You'll find all the detail, including where data is processed, in our privacy statement.
Can my students use Heapso?
Heapso is made for teachers, so please don't enter anything that identifies a student. If a prompt looks like it includes a student's details, Heapso will give you a gentle reminder.
What are credits?
Credits are only for the bigger AI jobs: a slide deck or an upload each use one credit. Planning lessons, units and worksheets never uses credits, images are included on Pro and school plans (up to 100 a day), and if something doesn't work, you won't be charged.
Does it handle te reo Māori properly?
Te reo Māori is off unless you turn it on. When it's on, Pip uses macrons, puts the English alongside, and is told not to make up cultural content or local stories. You can read more about our approach.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel from Plan and billing whenever you like, and you'll keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. You can still export your work for 90 days afterwards.
